Weather: 63 degrees, 75 today and windy
Mood: Anticipatory
Listening to: silence
It's silence that's hard to come by at my house these days. It's a happy noise, though. It's the sound of laughter and video games and talking and more laughing. I tried to call my sister last night while the guys were playing Wii and it was kind of noisy, but in a good way.
The trip to the city went well. We had lunch at the TRex Cafe, the dinosaur version of Rainforest Cafe. As usual it was pretty noisy in there. It didn't help that they sat us under the huge, roaring t-rex. Note to self: next time don't let them seat us under the ass end of the t-rex. The tail kept moving up and down, totally freaking M out. He spent much of the time crouched down in the seat trying to avoid the wagging tail.
There they are, taking a walk to get away from the tail. M spent much of the time with his hands clamped over his ears. I finally stuffed some napkin pieces in his ears so he could free up his hands to eat his paleo pizza.
After we were done eating we checked out the sand pit where we spent a while digging for dinosaur bones. How would you like to be the employee who gets to cover the bones with sand every night? They gave us little archeologist brushes to clear away the sand. The actual shovels were bolted to the rocks so it took a while to uncover most of the bones we found. M said it was the best day of his life, so it was all worth it.
Here's another picture. I took so many that the battery on my Rebel died.
After we finally pulled him away from the digging, we shopped for warm clothes. M and Bryan both found some chocolate brown hoodies and long sleeve shirts. It was 70 plus degrees so we spent much of the time outside walking through the shopping area.
Then we went to the allergy appointment. M has grown. He's now 49 inches tall and weighs 57 pounds. That's 2 inches and 5 pounds of growth since we were there in May. He also did worse on his breathing test and the doctor heard a wheeze that he wasn't terribly happy with. Of course it is almost the holiday and my boy has a way of getting sick for holidays. Sigh.
I refilled all of his prescriptions, almost $150 for everything. Yikes. I think the pharmacist felt sorry for us because she gave me a $100 gift card that we could use on future refills. Maybe it's because we spend at least $20 a month there anyway. Xopenex, Pulmocort, Singulair, and Orapred. At least we're set for another year on refills.
He's been wheezing more since we got home, so I gave him a breathing treatment before bed. He's coughing again now, so I know I'll have to give him another one before we leave for school.
That was a picture of the boys playing with the Christmas decorations at the shopping center. Since when does the Christmas tree lighting take place on Nov 17, before Thanksgiving??? The place was filled with Christmas stuff and I'm just not ready for that yet.
Today's plan is to go to school in the morning. Bryan is going to drop us off so he can have the car and come back for lunch with M at 11. It's our annual Thanksgiving luncheon at school. Then he'll hang around at school until I can leave at 12.
My first annual mammogram is scheduled for 4pm. I'm not looking forward to this, but I'm sure it will be like going to Confession. I'll feel better afterward. And I'll be doing something good for myself.
Okay, I guess it's time to go check out the blogs and answer emails before I wake the guys. Have a great Tuesday! :-)
